Credit rating whilst living abroad?

Hi,
I crossposted this on debtfree wannabee as well..
I don't know if anyone can help me with this, I've been living abroad for 2 1/2 years and want to get hold of my credit rating. After reading MSE I decided to try one of the online free trial for a month services but it won't accept my foreign postcode. All of my UK banks and credit cards have had this address on file since I moved. Is there anything I can do? I'm really keen to sort out my credit file before I move back to the UK (in 5 months) so I can do 0% transfer on my remaining creditcard balance-it seems I'm not eligible for this offer whilst living abroad

Your foreign address won't show up on UK credit reference agencies, as they only cover the UK. You will probably have trouble getting credit for the first couple years after you come back to the UK, but shouldn't be too much of a problem with banks you already deal with.0
