Can anyone recommend a good Private Investigator in London?

Hi,

First post so please forgive me if I have posted in the wrong place. Recently discovered my husband is having an affair and want to hire a private investigator as need evidence.

Can anyone recommend one they may have used in the London area who is good and can get results?

Please help as am hurting.

Why do you need evidence? You won't need evidence for a divorce. Do you need it confirmed for yourself? I don't know any good ones, but you can find one in the yellow pages, they often double up as process servers.
  • Hi - thanks for your reply. I need it confirmed for myself really. For my peace of mind. I've called a few places but would really like a recommendation if anybody has used someone already. Thanks again.

Have you tried talking to him?
  • Is it? I spoke to my solicitor and she didn't say it was illegal to get a PI? She did tell me I didn't need to get evidence for a divorce but like I said I need it for my own peace of mind.

It's not illegal. I used to work at a Solicitors and we always used private investigators and their evidence (photos, voice recordings and video footage) and this evidence was freely used in Court.

I'm afraid I can't help with regards the OP's question about London, but can I just say that you might want to just save your money. If you already know that he's cheating then why the need for evidence? I'd just get on with the divorce personally, but that's just me.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do and I'm sorry you're going through this.

What are you intending doing with 'the evidence'?

What do you really want to do about your relationship with your OH?
Do you want him to apologise and say he'll never do it again?
If this is what you want, do you really think he would never do it again?
And if you do believe he wouldn't cheat on you again, do you really think you could forgive and forget?
I don't think setting a PI on him would sit well within your future relationship together.

Or do you want to divorce him?
If so, as your solicitor has already told you, you don't need evidence such as this for a divorce.

I would really consider whether spending what may be a considerable amount of money is worth it - regardless of your reasons.

Presumably shoving it where the sun doesn't shine?

If that is the case, hiring a PI is a pretty damn expensive way to go about things.
I'd opt for the pointiest pair of shoes I'd got - then bin them (or maybe sell them on ebay). :D

Seriously, it sounds to me like the OP hasn't thought things through and hiring a PI is a knee-jerk reaction that will benefit nobody but the guy she hires.

The really awful truth about that is that you'd probably get a good price for them!
