Hiya I live in Manchester City Centre and always use Grindeys in stoke on trent. You dont need to actaully visit your solicitor's office if your buying as it can all be done by post. Out of town sols are usuually cheaper too.I love this site :beer:0

Poole and Alcock in Cheshire (they have a few branches), have been OUTSTANDING for me. Never too busy to talk to me and give advice, fixed fee, THE most fast correspondance I've ever known from a solicitor and generally all-round friendly people!

avoid Manchester they are expensive and too busy to give a personal service. I have bought and sold a lot of property in Manchester, Liverpool and the surrounding area and always use a firm in Wigan...McCarthy Bennett Holland 01942 206060Wombling £457.410

Can strongly recommend Metcalfe Johnstone and McCormick in Eccles. The Senior Partner is a very good personal friend of mine, just dealt with a property transaction for me. PM me for contact details.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

I'm sorry, I don't apologise. That's just the way I am. Homer (Simpson)0 -
Avoid a firm called Lowick and Mckay in Gatley as they were completely useless and very rude at times.
When trying to speak to the solicitor she was never there and i'd ask to be called back never once did they ring back.

Slater Heelis Collier Littler seem to be pretty good - I'm using them at the moment and had them recommended to me. Possibly not the cheapest, but they seem to be way better than the (Simpsons solicitor) Lionel Hutz-alike we used last time!0

Always rely on personal recommendations. Cost is irrelevant for a good job and they all rip us off to the same tune anyway. Good Luck0

As previously said try Slater Heelis Colliter Littler, especially their Sale office, the conveyancing solicitor in that branch is fantastic, Dealt with our sale (which fell thru twice), provided 2 lots of searches etc and only charged us a nominal fee for second set of info. Kept us fully informed at all times, absolutely brilliant.0
