I've been Money Tipped!
Tried to use my laptop this morning and up popped an error message saying I have a media codec error and to update now. I've tried restoring and it won't let me and I'm running virus checks now.
I don't want to click on the link, and my computor is showing a warning message on my desktop.
Hubby watched footy on it last night via Justin tv???
How can I restore this??

Many thanks,

Lynsey

  • Could be a virus/trojan. If you click on the link, it may access another file, which if you install may cause more problems. When does the message appear, through a web browser? Any indication on what Codec is causing the problem?

At the moment I have a large WARNING message on my desktop saying:

All media systems on your computer have crashed!
To resolve this issue and restore your system, update your media codec immediately!

There is an update link, but I don't want to open it up.
I'm using another laptop at the moment.

    I've restored my desktop.
I've ran both malwarebytes and superantispyware and done a system restore.
    I'll re-run again.

    Does luxecode ring an alarm???

On start-up I'm getting a message saying some of the firewall initialazion files have been tampered with by an external source.
