valuing LPs

I am thinking now that it wouldnt really be worth me bothering to list them, most unless rare are only going for about £1-1.50 after fees are taken, I wont get much profit for the time taken. I will have to do a lot of research to see what I have and see if any are any good

To be honest, unless you have something really rare then it's not worth the hassle. All my vinyl lps go to the Music & Video Exchange in Notting Hill Gate, at least that way I get something and they take the lot! Maybe you have a dealer locally who would buy your whole collection? Even if you don't get much at least you get rid of them and no hassle with posting them everywhere.

The only vinyl I'm probably going to ebay are some rare-ish 7" singles. Got the Magic Numbers first 7" so here's hoping....

I love the Music and Video exchange shops in London. Afaik there are none elsewhere, though, so anyone ouside London looking to sell a record collection might be best to take a stall at a car boot sale (but sell other stuff too), or look out for those record fairs they have occasionally in many towns and cities. A dealer is likely to offer you peanuts, but at least you won't be left with eBay fees for the ones that don't sell, and you won't have the hassle of posting them. I wanttosave, you've certainly got the right idea doing research - some dealers would try to fleece you if you have anything of value.

Thats exactly what I dont want, I dont know anything about them, I was born in to cassettes and cds, these are all what have been dumped here by family that has moved abroad and dont want them. I think if I have some idea of what I am talking about then they will not take me for a fool
