New cars 'cheaper than used ones'

I don't know what to believe. I read reports a few days ago that manufacturers like Ford were raising their prices for new cars despite the slump in demand. They claim is better to sell a few cars at a profit rather than a lot of cars at a loss. This could be true but when you see all those unsold cars on the forecourts you can't help but feel that they are going ta make a huge loss if they don't come up with something better than price increases(unless of course they are hoping for the government to implement the £2000 old car scrap sheme - in which case they will be hoping to pocket some of the 2K by keeping prices artificially inflated)0

Ford can raise prices all they like. What matters is the transaction price. There's no point blowing trumpets about a £18k Focus list price being increased by 2% when most people buy it for £13k.The man without a signature.0 -
Just goes to show that the people selling used cars are ripping off the buyer, or is it the buyer who is not as smart as the average bear.Mortgage free
