The Celeron 1.2will have less L2 cache than a P3 1.0GHz processor. Hard to say, I'd be inclined to say the 1.0GHz whould be that bit better because of the L2 Cache, however, the 1.2 maybe based on the Tualatin core (Intel changed the cores around that speed) which means it may have 256k L2 cache instead of 128k.
A lot will depend on the mobo and memory not jus the processor though. I used to have a Celeron 300MHz system (0 cache model) which would benchmark higher than a mates celeron 433MHz system (128k cache) because of the mobo and memory I had it in...he had a wonderful Pcchips mobo

HI--If i were you -- I would use dual processors -- did you say that your motherboard has dual capability???
If so -- I would keep the P111 and add another P3 1.0
I you mean -- that it can take either -- keep the P3 1.0
You will not notice any major difference between the two of them.
Cheers
