Howdens % discount

I am aware that many people on here have had kitchen with Howdens. I was wondering if you could help me out with a query.
I have a family friend who has a trade discount and has passed me a brochure with full price and 50% trade discount prices listed on it. Using these prices the kitchen units still come out more expensive than the same units from diy-kitchens and considerably more expensive than from wickes/b&q etc. Will Howdens negotiate on price and what kind of % should we be looking for?
For the record the units are
2 900mm corner base units
1 800mm pan draw
1 300mm pull-out larder (tall)
1 600mm built in double oven (tall)
1 450mm door (for dishwasher)
1 600mm door (for washing machine)
1 600mm belfast sink base and sink, taps, wastes
2 800mm wall units
1 500mm wall unit
In the Hamilton range from Howdens (the one we like) it comes to approx £2481.
Thanks
Rob

Take a look at this post for range of % discounts: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1602827
Please note that these discounts were given to a trader who has bought 5 full kitchens in the lat month0 -
So the discount isn't set for all traders? It depends on how often you use them?0

I have an account with howdens, had a few kitchens from them, Ive always found the staff very good, the kitchens units are assembled,if theres anything missing they bring it out to site, usually next day.The quality is not bad to.
As for the prices the staff will always try and get the order if they can. They are always having offers on like "spend £1500 on a kitchen and get a fridge/freezer for £20-00 all sorts of offers....
I have also fitted Wickes kitchens and also Ikea and had trouble getting the missing items, usually waiting 5-8 weeks for them...0 -

Yes they will price match and Howdens & B&Q have both flatpack and solid carcass ranges (I've never seen a Howdens flatpack fitted anywhere they're that ugly). Don't know about Wickes in terms of flatpack/solid but any of these kitchen places will start fighting once they have a competitors quote in their hand, that's a plain fact.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
