Jobseekers Allowance

I have been working at a company for over 3 years. Unfortunately, my employer is in the habit of performance managing people out of the door and I have seen loads of people sacked at my company. My employer now seems to be targeting me and I have so far had a verbal warning for under performance.
I am concerned that I may be next to get chucked out of the company and basically I would like to know where I stand as regards Jobseekers Allowance. Obviously I want to keep my job and will fight all the way to keep it but on the cab website it says that if you are dismissed for misconduct you may not get any JSA for the first 26 weeks. What is called a sanction.
If my employer does get rid of me does that mean I will not be entitled to JSA for 6 months? and is it best to appeal against every disciplinary decision my employer makes in order to demonstrate to JobcentrePlus that I have done everything possible to keep my job?
Please advise, thank you.

If you do get unfairly sacked you can take it to an employment tribunal. You should not get a sanction in these circumstances. You should contact ACAS for specialised advice.0

You'll not be sanctioned if you are sacked for under performance, its for leaving voluntarily or misconduct cases. Get your employer to put everything in writing if it does happen and take it when you go to tthe Jobcentre, you should fight it all the way though if you do not have issues with under performance.

I take it your not in the union with the company then ?
If so go to them for advice on this matter, otherwise I agree with "alwaysonthego", take this matter to them.....ACAS.
Do you think your manager is trying to find faults in you, or maybe look for an excuse to to get rid of you.
You have been there, like you said 3 years, surely your manager would have said about your performance by now.
The impression I get is that your manager is going round one by one, this recession does not help, but its no excuse for you to be treated this way.
Do you feel you under performed?
Sorry for the questions, just trying to get round to finding why you manager is acting this way, like you said, its a habit of his, it does make you think.
Remember to take notes of everything, this will be useful if required in the future.
I don't think that comes under mis-conduct, and if your manager does get rid of you, its just down to your performance, as it seems, so this should not stop your claims for JSA, but always get advice first, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

I believe my manager is trying to find an excuse to get rid of me. The company I work for has an office in South Africa which is expanding and the office where I work in the UK seems to not be replacing staff as they are leaving. I suspect there could be a redundancy situation within the next 12 months and if they can get rid of a few people before then it will save them some money.
The reason for the under performance is that the work we do is becoming increasingly automated and the work we are left to do which the automation cannot do is basically the crap. As well as this the company is also not having so much new work coming in so it seems to be a combination of factors none of which are my fault.0 -

Hi hun
Exactly this is not your fault, and you should take no blame for this.
I would try to get some advice on this then, through ACAS then if you've no union, but this should not affect your claim for JSA.;)
If they finish you, your manager should put this into writing, if he did add due to performance, this would not be fair on you either, due to future employment.
If anything, there should be a reasonable reason why.
This will not affect your JSA claim, but you do not want to be given a reason like this anyway, because of references for new employment.
I would be ahead of them with this one just in case, get as much advice as you can.

You should find a contact tel number on the link.
I bet your destined for better, all the best.;) XXThe one and only "Dizzy Di"
