We went today. Only got there at 12:00 but it was well worth it. The weather was great. Food quite pricey but we had to buy as OH forgot out lunch in the fridge! A few people waiting for the funfair but the kids enjoyed it aswell.

We went too. Only stayed until 2pm as DS had enough by then but we had a good morning, walked a long way though!!

If you have little ones please do get them some ear defenders or ear plugs as some of the little ones were terrified, it is very loud. Babies in buggies were screaming hysterically so please do get them ear defenders if you can.

However, I promised the kids an ice cream and we paid £9 for a walls calypso, 2 standard 99's and an oyster which is very excessive IMO, so that was all we spent, I packed food and drink for us for lunch and sat and watched it while we watched those vintage cars going around and the F1 car doing the laps. It was great trying to get a picture as you blinked and he was gone, LOL.

One little moan, there should have been a couple of play areas for little ones and big ones as the big kids on the inflatables were pushing the little kids and mine got scared. We did not get much else done because there were too many people waiting and DS could not deal with the people any longer.

I saw the traffic on the way back from Kent. OMG 2 hours they said on traffic news. I'd have turned around but there were plenty of excited kids in the backs of the parents cars. Hope u all had fun.

Got there about 10am today - traffic wasn't too bad. Great event, free funfair was nice to have, the Clio crashes at Abbey certainly pleased the boys I took.
Top event - make sure you put it in your diary for next year.
Take lots of your own drink though - will save you a lot of money on the day.

Had a good day all round, but the traffic was horrendous. It took 1hr 45mins to get from Junction 15a of the M1, to the car park at the circuit... although I got there a bit later than I did last year. As for the way out, I won't even mention that!!!

Overall, for a day out, it hit the spot again for both petrolheads and family fun. Will definitely be back should they do it again next year.

OMG! what a day it took SIX hours to get to from near manchester- leaving at 8 am!!!! the traffic and parking was horrendous. The ability to view any race was limited as the place was packed, and its SOO child unfreindly- no baby change anywhere. It took us FIVE hours to get home after leaving the satdium as the car parks were not manned to direct a flow of traffic and main gates were kept closed for too long! we went to Donnington 2 yrs ago which was spectacular and fairly accessable. and Donnington also had more of a "freindly feel" to it.
Great to have had free tickets but next time I'll leave them for some-one else with perhaps not so far to travel.
please note . these are my personal comments and I don't want to be slagged of for them, just needed to inform people for next year..:)

I too went to the World Series today - what a great day!!!

I left home at 6.40am this morning and was in the circuit and parked up (on hard standing) by 7.55am. In the circuit by 8.00am so no trouble getting in. I predict that those of you who left later are not used to race-day traffic so got caught up in it more.

Overall a great day - probably not as busy as previous years in my opinion (possibly due to the Wimbledon Final & Goodwood FOS clashes) but still a good crowd.

Races were all good and full of incident apart from the actual World Series itself (prossesional), lots of spins and bumps and overtaking in the other Formulae :)

The F1 display was slightly dissapointing as it was last year's car (R28) - and the current car (R29) went round the same track 2 weeks earlier so that has lost its appeal a bit.

I had a slight issue with the crowds around the Merchandise - lots of people all trying to get served and the assistants constantly serving the same area of people - i ended up wasting 20 mins trying to get my merchandise. The only saving grace is that it's around 20% cheaper than online etc.

I would also like to see the addition of a TV screen at the Luffield Complex as that area accounts for a large amount of the viewing public...or at least a timing screen. I notice there was a TV at Copse - not sure whether it was Data or Live feed??

We left the circuit about 6.30ish and took us half an hour to travel about 1 mile (down to the island and back up) - Why all the traffic has to go the same way for !!!! We managed to avoid the traffic on the A43 by going straight on at the junction and shortcutting it which i reckon saved 30-40mins!!! They don't employ marshals effectively at the WS so there is no decent traffic control.

Overall though a good day had by all.
