Pipex problem

For the second time in as many years my landline (but not broadband) has gone completely dead. I called Pipex to report it but the guy in customer services couldn't transfer my call to the technical dept. because their system isn't working at the moment. Doesn't inspire confidence does it?

In fact, it appears the two words of your thread title say it all!Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

I eventually got my landline back. I think the Easter weekend meant BT Openreach didn't get round to fixing it until the Tuesday 14th.
Well, that repair hasn't lasted long as my landline has gone dead again. The most annoying thing is that my broadband sync speed takes a dive whilst the voice line is off for some reason.
I guess I get to call the Pipex call centre again now. Yay!0
