I currently have a Natwest Switch card, on which i owe 1250 from an overdraft. I'm getting charges of 47quid each month (my fault i know) and i'd like to pay it off.
I tried to sign up online to a Virgin Credit card, which offers a 0% on balance transfers, which is all i will use it for.
But when it asks about the account i'd like to transfer from, it only gives me the options for credit cards i.e Visa, mastercard, american express - etc.
Is this because you can only do a balance transfers from credit cards to credit cards? Or can you do balance transfers from debit to credit?
I couldnt get through on the phone to ask.
Also, if it is not possible, Do i have any other options?
Is it a good idea to get a low % card with a limit of 1250, use it to pay off the overdraft?
Thanks for your time
Rob

As I understand it Virgin cards are basically MBNA cards (or has that changed). MBNA certainly lets you transfer funds to your current account. Basically some cards do and some don't0

Thank you for your response.
I don't own any credit cards. Its a debit card that the debt is on. I'm looking to get a 0% credit card to pay transfer the debt to, and pay off before i start getting charged interest.
Basically, i'm paying nearly 50.00 a month in charges alone, which could be much better spent paying off my debt.0 -
If you can get a Virgin card it will allow you to do a cash transfer for 15 months @ 0% for a fee of 2.98% of the cash transferred. They will allow you to transfer up to 95% of your credit limit.0
