I wish I could tell you why we were advised not to buy them. I thought they looked great but it was someone in the kitchen showroom that managed to put me well and truly off
half the time these people talk rubbish anyway, sigh.
Sorry, not much help.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Thanks for replying....I think they look great too...
Anyone else ???0 -
Hi,
My friend had one in a house that they rented out and the occupants totally wrecked it. It was scratched and water damaged; a right mess! However, with a little TLC and some furniture oil, it came back a treat and still looks great.0 -
If you want bamboo worktops, go to a specialist, don't et them from Homebase. The quality of them isn't very good at all and if you don't keep on top of them, they will stain very easily. You may pay more from a specialist, but they will look better for longer...If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

I can't tell you about worktops but we have solid bamboo flooring. we bought from a specialist company and research told us that it was very hardwearing and a stable wood. Whilst the floor looks lovely it scratches and dents exceptionally easily! I wouldn't have it again.0

Why not give http://www.rugbykitchens.co.uk/index.asp a try? They supply the Second Nature collection from PWS, which are decent worktops...
Or even http://www.alexleekitchendesign.co.uk/index.htm but I'm not sure where they get their worktops from...If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Thanks mwilletts - right on the doorstep too, will defo have a look at these - just hoping they supply worktop only as some places (B&Q / Ikea) will only sell wood / granite worktops if you buy and have them fit the whole kitchen :-(
OH is building ours himself :j0
