Hi
We bought a Tom Tom GO 510 for £349 in Oct 06. We feel it has never really been "right" i.e. a 17day tour of Europe 2 years ago following a pal with another sat nav his would direct him right to the campsite where ours would deliver us 1 mile down the road....anyway it was returned to Tom Tom Jan 08 due to it "dying" and not being able to reset it ourselves, was fixed free by Tom Tom and returned. Well lo and behold same problem just occured and having sent to Tom Tom they have advised me that it needs repairing again but out of warranty so i need to pay £65. I have tried to reason with them reference same problem little over a year ago, the fact that i can buy a new one for a little more but they are not budging....not very impressed, but guess there is nothing i can do....
Anyone recommend a sat nav ???!!!

My own experience of TomTom's Customer Service is that it is very poor. When I asked for technical advice, the response I got back contradicted what was in their FAQs and was just plain wrong.
I've had a Garmin Nuvi for around a year now and it works well, with a user interface that (for me at least) is a bit simpler than the previous TomTom. Garmin Customer Support has also been very good.0 -

I was thinking of getting a Tom Tom 730"A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi
