Hi All
Just to let you know we have just got back from a 4 night Easter break stay at Theobalds Park - Very nice indeed
Its close to London so we could be in london in 45 minutes (meet friends and feed cats)
Its a beautiful manor style house wih lovely gardens, the only thing I found dissapointing was no swimming pool but if ou want they have a gym, sauna steam room and spa pool although I couldnt use these as I am pregnant
I would reccomend this hotel!0 -
Well the website was temperamental but I did manage to get 2 nights for 59 quid in the end. I know its not £10, but its still a great saving.
Remember the price is per bedroom (so for two people), even more of a bargain!0 -
has the family room got a double bed?Use your judgement, and above all, be honest with yourself.

We paid £10 per night for the room, had breakfast on two mornings (although they only seemed to charge us for 1!), dinner was 2 course for £15 or 3 for £19 and the wine was £5 off per bottle. Total for two nights was £115.50 for the two of us. Breakfast was £7.95 each and you could have as much as you like - bargain.
Beautiful setting, pity about the rain but it was well worth it. Food was amazing and worth more than they were charging. Free tea and coffee in the main lounge all day, would highly recommend it.
we were due to go there this saturday for partners surprise birthday treat. they called and said cant use restaurant now so i called back and complained as i emailed them in march to confirm dinner prices. we are now being moved to horsley park where the restaurant is in use - anyone know what it is like and what meals are like please also i presume we can still get free tea and coffee??? no email confirming this as of yet so going to have to call back to check what is happening :mad:0 -
We've booked a family room in Ascot in June. How was hotel? meals, facilites etc?
Really good. It is very modern and more of a conference hotel, but the kids loved the excitement of staying there.
We had a double bed and two put-u-ups in the same room. The bar area is great with a pool table, and huge tv screen (but in a separate part so it isn't blaring out in the actual bar) and children are welcome. They serve a bar menu here and there is also a main restaurant where they were serving a 2 course dinner for £15.
We ate breakfast in the main restaurant which was buffet style and very good. Kids ate free with each adult. There are also several points around the hotel which serve free hot drinks.
We were very impressed. We've also booked again for June.
Hope this is of some help.

Spent last night at Wokefield Park near Reading, Excellent hotel, really impressed with facilties and staff, Pool, spa and sauna all really nice. Foyer of the hotel housed a couple of coffee stations where you can help yourself to tea and coffee, bar prices are £3.35 for bottled beer and about £3.60 a pint
Food was really good, had buffet style dinner last night and buffet breakfast this morning, all really nice. Two courses for £15 and an extra £4 if you want dessert, £5 off any bottle of wine (which start at around £16 IIRC) Would be excellent if you play golf too (which I dont) as there is a golf course and driving range there.
There was someone causing a right scene and making an embarassment of themselves in the restaurant last night, complaining about the food, being a buffet we tried a bit of almost everything on the menu and it was all really nice so really dont see what their problem was!
Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!
