Car insurance - cancellation fee?
I am selling my car so have cancelled my insurance policy. When I rang Esure to cancel the policy I was told that any money owed to me would be subject to a £50 cancellation charge as I was in the first year of my policy. I told them this is my second or third (can't remember which) year with Esure. I was then told that the old policy had lapsed before the new one took effect.
Can this be right? I stayed with Esure, insuring the same car, no name drivers etc, same total mileage.
Any ideas, as it looks like I'm going to get nothing back from what I have paid?

Sounds a shade high but not by much I thought it was about £35. Not much you can do unless you have read your policy farefully and it says anything to the contrary.0
