out of curiosity how much is it to open an ebay shop or do you just pay fees on items you sell?

also if you have a shop can you still sell items under auction instead of from your shop?

and one last question, if using buy it now how do you upgrade your paypal account?

ive searched both ebay and paypal for the answers but cant find them. all information i need too know will be gratefully received.

A basic eBay shop is £6.00 a month.

To upgrade your paypal account, just log into your paypal account and the click on My account>profile, scroll to the bottom of the page and you will find two lines with various links. On the first line, fourth one in it says 'account types' click that link, that should be the one that you want.

so really i could be better off doing normal auctions starting at 1p and having a buy it now price on there also and letting the item go for whatever i get either BIN or hugest bid. im guessing that would be cheaper. ive got a wardrobe full of old records that i want to get rid of as i need the space.

If you start an item at 1p and it sells for 1p then you've already made a loss because your eBay fees (listing fees and final value fees) will definately exceed this in the first place. If you have a Premier Paypal account (can accept credit/debit card payments) and are accepting payment via this method then you're going to have a greater loss.

If you have many old records to sell then an ebay shop may be a good idea because you could put the records in different categories making it easier for potential buyers. In addition eBay shop fees are much cheaper than standard eBay fees. I also think if you open an eBay shop for the first time then you get the first month totally free.

If you don't want an eBay shop then personally I would list the items in an auction rather than Buy It Now.

Be careful not to make a loss.

    Good luck.
