Ok so I ordered a sofa from sofasofa.co.uk and recieved a phone from the delivery driver on Monday to say the sofa was all ready for delivery and would be delivered today between 6 and 9pm..so I arranged the time off work and got myself all excited untill I get a phone at 1pm today from sofasofa informing me that the sofa isnt ready and will be ready for delivery next friday!!! The 17th!!! How annoying!! Especially as I paid £25 delivery and have now been waiting 6 weeks, by the time i get it it will be 7weeks when they delivery approx 4 weeks!!! And I will have to take even more unpaid leave...I cant believe it...How can a sofa be ready 2 days ago and now not ready??? Has anyone had any similar problems with this company?

I've just been let down by sofasofa/Thomas Lloyd.
To cut a long story short, I bought sofa's elsewhere that were faulty, so I rejected them under the sales of goods act. The retailer collected the faulty sofa's and refunded in February, leaving me with no sofa's. We've got 2 deck chairs at the moment which are so uncomfortable, especially if you want to sit in them for a while to watch a film or a football match. The children have to sit on the floor and we do too when we have guests.
Knowing I have relatives arriving from Kent for Easter, finding someone who could deliver sofa's before Easter was my top criteria when looking to buy elsewhere. I saw sofasofa and Thomas Lloyd promise to deliver within 4-6 weeks.

I phoned to check the delivery terms were correct and was told they were doing orders in 3-4 weeks but to allow 6 weeks just in case. I was happy with this and ordered.
As I was so worried about them arriving in time for Easter, I called back a few days later and a lady confirmed I would get them before Easter and she'd make a note on my paperwork.
I didn't hear anything for 5 weeks, so I phoned to query and the man in dispatch said my sofa's were not on the planner and he couldn't help. I phoned customer service who said the delay was unexpected, but nobody else was able to help. I sent a letter which hasn't been replied to yet.
It's now 7 weeks since I ordered and my order is finally on the planner to be delivered in 2 weeks time, but they cannot give me a confirmed date or time until the driver plans his route. I did say some notice would be appreciated so one of us can book leave from work, but I was told the driver takes priority as he is running a tight schedule so we will have to fit in round him!
To make matters worse, the lady I spoke to today said my sofa's were ready 2 weeks ago, but there was no space on the last van that came to my area, and they only come here every 4 weeks so I have to wait for the next van. It's so frustrating knowing they are ready and sitting in a warehouse somewhere.
I've now got nothing for my relatives to sit on over the holidays, and I'm really disappointed that I've been let down. I think the most disappointing bit is that nobody I've spoken to at the company has apologised for letting me down. I would have appreciated an apology and an explanation for the delay rather than being fobbed off that nobody knew anything. Here I go again on my own....0 -
I've never understood why it takes so long to get sofas. The big manufacturers sell thousands of identical ones so why don't they hold stock so they can deliver straight away?
There is a bed shop in this area whose slogan is 'order by lunchtime, delivery by bedtime' so what's the difference between beds and sofas?0 -
I cannot believe the delivery is dependent on the driver....so basically the reason why i didnt get my sofa today was probably because he couldnt be arsed to drive down to Dorset or had no other deliveries in the area...that is ridiculous!!! Especially when we are paying way too much for it!!! £25!!!0

I had a problem with DFS. I ordered a sofa which taken 9 weeks to be delivered. I was rang by the store to say It would be delivered on a certain day, so I waited and waited and nothing came.
So I rang them up and they told me that they tried to deliver but know one was in!! So they re arranged it for the following week and again nobody delivered.
Found out that they had the wrong address and apologies which these things happen. The best part was I got a letter a few days later for an invoice of £30 for re delivery!!!!!0 -
Exactly the same problem - only have been through it twice - delivery arranged for a specific time, only for them to ring on the day to tell us 'the fabric isnt in yet' - exactly the same thing has happened twice so be prepared for it to happen again to you. Now over 12 weeks since we placed the original order. Ive cancelled my order and demanded the deposit back. I used to work in the same industry - in fact was the Manufacturing Director of a competitor - we never promised a customer a home delivery date unless the furniture was already manufactured - why can't they do the same? We gave our existing sofas aware in antisipation of the new delivery date so currently have an empty room! Good job its not the main one.Ok so I ordered a sofa from sofasofa.co.uk and recieved a phone from the delivery driver on Monday to say the sofa was all ready for delivery and would be delivered today between 6 and 9pm..so I arranged the time off work and got myself all excited untill I get a phone at 1pm today from sofasofa informing me that the sofa isnt ready and will be ready for delivery next friday!!! More delivery problems I'm afraid. Delivery man rang to say he'd be an hour or so but was early. Must have just missed him as he left a card timed 20min into the future! Rang sofasofa to speak to customer services and was told the manager doesnt speak to customers and doesnt have an email address but I could write him a letter!! Sorry, had to vent.0
