Funraising for Jubilee Orphanage

Options
hi guys

I am new to MSE so if i have posted this in the wrng place/ broken some rules please let me know!!

I am the charities co-ordinator for Manchester and Salford Universities Air Squadron which is part of the Royal Air Force VR. Every year we have a chosen charity but this year we have decided to funraise directly for a cause - the jubilee orphange in Nairobi - i can't post the link as i'm a new user, i think!!?

We have raised about £1500 through various events already - one of our members is even being sponsored to run 2 marathons in a month!!

But to raise quite a lot of money we are putting on a charity auction on 10th June. We have already managed to get the venue hire for free but we just need some things to auction!!! So i'm just wondering if anybody has any suggestions about where/what I can get or if anybody has any contact who would be willing to donate something?!! - that sounds a bit cheaky but if you don't ask!!!

Thanks, i look forward to your replies

Ps. if anybody would like to buy a ticket for the event please let me know, the more the merrier!! (it's in manchester)

    Uni Air squadron?

Anyone with a PT job might be able to get their employer to put things in. Try hotels too, but generally, it comes down to the more you ask, the more you'll get.

if all else fails, I'm sure you must have some fit lads and lasses to 'auction'?
for more info check out www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk . You'll find me there.

yes, I realise I may appear cold and heartless a lot of the time.

yes, a people auction was my original thought but getting people to volunteer is proving to be rather problematic!!
