The last 2 tests I went for, the centre wasn't interested in the appointment letter or the previous MOT, all they wanted was the registration book (it's coming back to me now, I'm getting old and forgetful..............:p)Norn Iron Club Member No. 252 :beer:0

Last time I was there they asked for the registration book! Could be a change in policy?Dave0

From recent experience of two MOTs, it is best to bring your registration document (so they can check the VIN on it against the actual VIN on the car if they wish) and your appointment letter. Some testers ask for the registration doc., others don't. If it is the car's first MOT, they are more likely to cross check the VIN.0

Darn! I'll have to keep looking then. I did suspect that was the case. Thanks all0

They do ask for it however you may get away without producing it if you say you have mislaid it, they only need it to check the chassis number for the car being tested, as long as your appointment letter has the chassis number on it they can check the computer and the car and as long as they correspond you should be fine.Norn Iron Club member No 3530

i think the best bet may be to call he garage and ASK what they require.0

HI I got tested in Larne last month and they didn't ask me for anything. Although they also passed my car even though it had a baldy tyre so that doesn't say much for their service:rotfl:
You will get away with more if you're a girl- make sure you look good and if they do ask for you logbook play the damsel in distress routine!0 -
Hi, my car went for MOT test on tuesday at Craigavon Test Centre, and was asked for Log Book, I think it is standard procedure.0

I can now remember not having a log book with me many years ago, and I mean MANY years ago, and they failed the car because of that.Norn Iron Club Member No. 252 :beer:0

I had my test in Larne not long ago and they asked to see my letter, log book and old MOT certificate.0
