Do you need to bring the vehicles log book? I have misplaced it at the moment but dont want to have to fork out for a new one unless absolutely necessary. I know that I have it, just cant lay my hands on it atm.
Thanks in advance

No, I've never been asked for the log book - no need to get a new one. Just tootle along in your car at the appointed time and to the appointed lane. They have all the details you need already otherwise they would have been unable to send you a reminder letter. Have the reminder letter with you, though you probably won't need that either.
Have some big smiles cos I find your professional advice on here invaluable:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Cheque Book ????? what's one of them
Booked and payed for my last MOT all online:T:T:T very easy to do;)
Remember to get the underside of the steam cleaned or power hosed before the MOT, if they cant see the brake lines etc.... properly they will make you come back again and you'll have to pay for a re test:oI am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:0 -
I think you do need your log book, certainly the last couple of times I've needed it and I think it tells you to bring it along for the test, sorryNorn Iron Club Member No. 252 :beer:0

there is no legal requirement to bring your log book. If you REALLY need to bring something (and you don't need to bring anything with you except the car and payment!) then you can take your old MOT's. This will aid in keepingthe mileage documented with DVLA.0

I had my MOT last week and it actually stipulates on the back of the appointment letter what you need to bring. There are 3 things you will need to take with you:
1. The appointment letter
2. Vehicle Registration Document
3. Current MOT Certificate (or notice of refusal)0 -
well that may be just your garage's policy. LEGALLY, there is no requirement for any of the documents.
When the garage add your new MOT this is all cross checked with DVLA.0 -
Sorry Ivrytwr3, this is the Northern Ireland board. No garage MOT testing here. Government centers only0
