How to get £25K First Direct card

Options
What is the secret of getting a First Direct card with £25K limit?

Is it an "invitation only" privilage to FD current account holders? Do you need to be a long standing FD customer before you can be considered for this type of limit?

I am very keen to get my hand on this generous card offer.

Any experiences or suggestions wellcome..

Thanks all MSE'ers, you all are great bunch of folk.

Ive banked with them for about 12 years, and have my mortgage with them as well.

I was invited to apply for a £25k card, and my wife was invited to apply for a £22k limit.

    I thought it was christmas.;D

Yes, but only by moving it via an SBT card such as Egg

Just going back to the original question about getting a high limit...

As with all credit cards once you have been with them for a while and paid promptly they are receptive to increases in the credit amounts.

I am shortly going to swap my ordinary FD credit card for the gold one, just to renew the 0% interest free period. In preparation for this I clicked on the "increase limit" button online. As soon as the screen opened without even asking me what I wanted it offered to up my limit to £25k! That's much nicer than other card sites where you have to guess how much more you can get away with.

Now I'm almost ready to swap cards (and transfer that shiny new credit limit). Then I noticed the web site also lets me switch cards at the click of a button (as long as you are not trying to downgrade from a gold card). This is almost too easy. As a First Direct fan I'm feeling a pang of guilt about stoozing off them when they are so helpful. Not quite enough to turn down all that lovely free money though!
