stay clear from them (Petchey Leisure, Avanti Holidays, Idealhomeshowholidays are all the same company run by Leisure Dimension Ltd). They are a timeshare scam company and need to be reported to the authorities and watchdog.

see this quote i read from website of timesharetalk. I can't copy and paste the website link as i am a newbie. see quote below:

    Hi all,

This weekend (22-05-2010) myself and my wife were victim's of Petchey Leisure in CPO in Portugal, we signed a contract buying 40.000 Pure Points for 12700 euros, we where caught after lunch after a good wine bootle.

The contract was signed with portuguese people, the contract is written in Portuguese, but all the stamp's are from LEISURE DIMENSIONS LIMITED registred in Ireland.

We now have 14 days to cancel the contract, i will send a cancelation letter for the portuguese representative but since the stamps and all the addresses in the contract are from Ireland could you guys be kind enough to provide me with a cancelation letter template.

    Kind Regards,
    Andr Fonseca
  • we were we were called about a holiday for £79 with avanti (petchy leisure).and were given the option of 5 places to choose from. we decided on the oasis club in mijas costa in june this year. it is a time share company but our experience was not one of horror. we were invited for breakfast or lunch, which they paid for, and gave the rep an hour of our time. he showed us around the complex, which is beautiful, then left us to enjoy the rest of the week without any hassle or hard sell. we had a lovely spacious 1 bed apartment for 1 week for £79 and 1 hour of our time. all you have to do is politly say no to the time share and enjoy your holiday! it is not a scam

v concerned / wary if agents are giving personal details like this away? if not on DPA grounds, but also passing on possible future business to competitor..

or are they in it together??
Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..

  • Used them in Jan this year, Tenerife, Royal Parque Albatross, one bed apartment £69 for seven days. About a couple of hours was spent looking at the complex which included a free breakfast. After the viewing had a sit down with the rep. There was no hard sell and the rep came to the conclusion that it was not worth us buying points for Petchy Leisure. Could not fault them. Would use them next year.

    Hi,

went to the ideal hone show and completed a card to win a holiday. i put down my mobile number and email address. I received a call from Petchey Leisure today telling me i had won a 1 week holiday for a family of 4 in either spain, portugal or tenerife. all i had to do was to pick the dates between 1st nov 2010 to 31st march 2011, pick the resort off of the email they sent me then confirm back to them when i had booked my flights. All i have to pay for is my flights only. Is this to good to be true or has anyone else experienced this and if so what happened? Regards, Gary.
:j My wife and I have been on two holidays with Avanti and had no problems at all. Never been bothered with salesmen. We thought that with it being so cheap there would be problems. We are going with them again in March 2011 to Mijas, can't wait.

    Regards

I recently got a call from Avanti-passport, telling me i got a free week giveaway from the IdealhomeShow at Earls Court held earlier this year. They also advertise this on idealhomeshowholidays website

A bit reluctant to go as i think it is a scam, but still tempted. Anyone had any call like that? If yes, have you taken their promotion and gone to the holiday resort given by Avanti (they gave me the Vera Beach Club resort), without having to pay any hidden cost?

on the phone they lady did ask me if i have already paid any marketing fee yet, when i ask what she meant, she just ask me to ignore this bit!! sounds very fishy!

I did my research and Leisure Dimensions Limited (LDL) is the company behind all this. The company is registered in Kent and funnily it has the same address as the holiday resort in Kent. LDL runs the website of petcheyleisure , and also avanti-passport website.

Worryingly this company looks like it has never filed an account with Companies House

on the other side, if it is a genuine promotion for timeshare then i believe the whole thing is legit. Just need to get some confirmation from other people who has been through this to the end.

Strange how the majority of positive posts are from 1 or 2 post members.

We have just returned for a three night free holiday with Avanti at the Hever Country Club Hotel in Kent.

Great accommodation. No food. But it was free!! No timeshare meetings to attend.

And here`s the shocker. I wrote to Avanti to thank them and they are now giving me another totally free holiday! I can`t find a catch.

But also can`t understand why they are giving away free holidays out of season.
