It was 1st delivered with the wrong charger so it all haad to go back, then it stop charging so again it all went back to be 'fixed' about 2 months later it is again not charging so needs the problem fixing again!! My mam wants to wash her hands of this pain in the !!!! computer and it has resulted in much crying from my sis (especially christmas day) and my mam trying to ring and explain the problems to them as they won't have it.

Can she get her money back??

What are her rights etc??

Sorry to hear you've had so many problems with Dell, they've always been good for me.

I assume you have at least a year's warranty as all of my Dell's have always come with that. Have you tried emailling them and explaining all the problems you've had? The few times something's gone wrong with mine they have been very quick to send out replacement parts, I've usually got them within about three days. I know a common complaint about Dell is that the phone people can be hard to understand (and it's expensive!) but whenever I've emailled them they've sent the stuff out immediatley and reply with very good english.

    Hi there :hello:

This is a cheaper number to call for dell : 01344 860456

Its the head office switchboard , Just ask them to put you through to customer services. It's a cheaper number than them dreaded 0845 , 0870 , etc. And this number will come out of your minutes on your phone or mobile package if you have any.

    Hope this helps

I've had a few problems with my Dell laptop (the CD drive playing up), but they've always been quick at responding and their customer service is excellent. As Wordsearch said, you're best to email them through their website and they normally send someone out to the customer to look at the problem.

Had many problems with a Dell laptop myself. Eventually managed to persuade them (after 15 months of having faults) to hugely upgrade and replace plus provide an extended warranty.

In short - worth continuing with the complaint and asking for it to be escalated.
  • thanks for the info guys. I'll show this to my mam. Hopefully she can get it sorted!
