I have just discovered someone has took one of my essays from a nursing help forum, and is selling it on ebay advertising it as their own and claiming a false passmark!!!! I have emailed ebay regarding this and reported the seller, god knows how many people have already bought it though!. I am so shocked that people can take the work of people that have put hours of effort into, and make profit from it. There are loads of other ones too, probably belonging to some other poor people!!

How do you think I stand with this?

You can forget all about copyright and the like on an essay....don't get carried away on a revenge type culture - its far more expensive - and throwing good money after bad....

You should be proud and rather ask for a cut - thats a money saving expert tip!! 8) ;D 8)

Or - you could start your own site selling essays - thats competition LOL

Wouldn't worry too much about it, just report them to ebay, and leave it at that. And try to get the listing removed, that way you will have at least some revenge and will p** the seller off! But in the end more and more listings will pop up again and again. So its fighting a losing battle, but you got to start some where.

It was cheeky that they used your past essay to be sold, and if anyone is actually dumb enough to buy it and hand it in, it would most likely get picked up by the marker, especially at universities now, plagiarism software scanners are used that scan billions of essay banks and internet sites for any matches.

Also I would never ever recommend posting any past essays on a forum or on the internet at all because you are asking for trouble!!!

Hi - once the essays and any other written work are out in the public - its a moving feast - kind of like fleas arguing over who owns the dog.....best to smile and walk away knowing you wrote it...

Well done for a good essay worth selling anyway (if it wasn't good it wouldn't be in demand) - also the more fuss you make - the higher the price will go...

Colleges/universities, can and do check work for plagiarism. If the purchaser submits the work as his or her own, they would be in serious deep brown stuff!

You may never find out, but you might if you wished, contact your nursing college, and inform them what has happened, they could pass on the info to other centres. It might make you feel a little better if nothing else. Student's think it's easy to cheat these days with internet access, but in the hands of a skilled researcher, and a few key phrases in the right search engines, they can be caught.

Woohoo, I should think that Ashley has every right to be annoyed about what has happened. She did something altruistic and put her essay on a help website for other student nurses to look at. Someone else has taken her kind intention and hijacked it to make money out of student nurses who do not have much money in the first place.

having someone elses essay does not mean you are copying it! It could just be that you want to see how someone else has done it and check you are on the right track.

Beside, telling her to sell her own essays is not a money saving thing to do. Its a money making thing to do. It gives the impression that a helpful gesture should only be made if there is a secondary gain and thats shameful.

Thankyou tammy_nadine. I was only trying to help in the first place, and will NEVER do such like again, or let anyone else see any of my essays. This also means people who need help genuinely and wouldnt abuse it lose out.

Also if people are that desperate to buy and essay from ebay, its pretty likely they ARE going to copy it!!! I have informed the university about it.
