Do you have microsoft office installed? If not then do a search for Open Office (a free alternative). This will allow you to open .doc (Microsoft Word 2003 documents)

HTH, PM me if you have any questions

Firstly, have you got microsoft office installed? If not and you have a license for it, install it. If you haven't bought it, i recommend openoffice.org.

If MS office is installed, try this:

    1. Right click the file
    2. Select Properties
    3. Near the top it'll say Opens with... and a button with 'Change' on it.
    4. Click 'Change'
    5. Browse and find the office executable (it's called WINWORD.exe somewhere in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office or wherever it's installed).

That should associate .doc files with office.
