Do you have microsoft office installed? If not then do a search for Open Office (a free alternative). This will allow you to open .doc (Microsoft Word 2003 documents)

Firstly, have you got microsoft office installed? If not and you have a license for it, install it. If you haven't bought it, i recommend openoffice.org.When I get sent emails with attachments I cant open any that are doc.Up comes an error pop up saying "This file does not have a programme associated with it for performing this action.Create an assosciation in the Set Associations control panel". I dont know what this means or where this control panel is.Can anyone help me sort this out? Many thanks.
If MS office is installed, try this:
1. Right click the file
2. Select Properties
3. Near the top it'll say Opens with... and a button with 'Change' on it.
4. Click 'Change'
5. Browse and find the office executable (it's called WINWORD.exe somewhere in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office or wherever it's installed).
That should associate .doc files with office.0 -
