I was under the impression that unsecured borrowing becomes secured on property and so doesn't fall into the remit of BR. Because I was advised by CCCS when I was still in my old house and going through the divorce to let them secure it so it came out when the house was sold.

I narrowly escaped the repossession literally by a week. I was basically pushed into a situation where I had to get the house sold simply because my ex was demanding what he believed was his share - and so I was advised not to go BR until post divorce.

From what I have seen here, I must have misunderstood the whole thing regarding securing unsecured debts; so that is why I was worried for OP because I thought it would effectively take it out of the BR situation.

So I am sorry if I panicked you.

So you upset this delightful creature by neglecting to call her back

    nice1:rotfl:
  • All pre BR debts, secured or not are a pre BR liabilaty but if you wish to keep the house your reasoning is valid, but if your letting the propery go then ALL debts related too property will go into the BR once the security has gone as they are a liabilaty before BR.

    It is confusing

thank you all for clearing that up for me, i couldnt get hold of NDL and i was starting to panic after affluenza's comments but as i am planning to having the property reposessed i dont need to worry about any charges.

i take it everyones BR is as up and down as mine is so far, im just hoping i can keep it calm until after the wedding - 6 weeks tomorrow.

one peice of advice i have just been givin is get rid of the landline as when im at work my partner gets a lot of 'angry' calls asking for me and it seems the obvious choice to get rid of them

May be the best thing would be not to answer the phone, then when caller has hung up you phone 1471 which will give you the number of the person who has just called, then you will no if it is somebody you want to talk to are not I did this for weeks if my OH was at home he would tell them am not in and dont call again

Or if your debts are with MBNA you just log onto your account online and change your phone number to 01234567890, bingo, problem solved :D

I just pity the poor person who actually has that phone number :rotfl::rotfl:

Don't ignore a problem. Unlike a bad smell, it won't eventually go away.
