My oh is redoing our patio - and we want to buy block pavers. Anyone any good companies to buy from - I know you can get them from builders merchants, but want to see if I can get them direct from maker.

I work for a builders merchants and as a general rule manufacturers do not sell to Joe Public. Therefore you have to buy them from a distributer, someone like a builders merchant or B&Q or Wickes0

Unless you want to sign a 5 year contract stating you will order a minimum of £35,000 worth of products from them per year (Marshalls for this example), you can't buy them direct...
Wickes & B&Q tend to be a bit cheaper than the builders merchants for block paving. Make sure you go for some which meet relevant BS standards, as you can be sure sure they will last you 25+ years...If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

You'll struggle to get a manufacturer to supply you, but do visit several places and get quotes and haggle. Depending on how much you're looking to spend, you can make quite a saving. When I did my patio, I got a quote from Jewsons which was way below the prices advertised in their catalogue ( I spoke to the store manager ). Then I took the quote round to Travis Perkins who beat it by a further 5%. Admittedly I was spending a large amount in this instance, but it pays to haggle. Oh, and I'm not particularly saying those 2 stores are any better or worse than anywhere else - just in my case both were within 2 miles of my home so it was easy to do.0

i bought plaspave 60mm thick blocks, from a local keyline builders merchants.find ones you like then ring around for quotes.
b and q are among the cheapest for block paving though for there own brand.0 -
