We bought the guitar then guitar hero world tour and works fine for us also.

Bought one this lunchtime.

Just trying to download the xbox live demo as we haven't got a game yet (someone at work is lending us one first) but it is taking ages.

thanks. i got one this morning. Very good value, the second hand stores stopped selling them standalone recently.

i got it to use with Frets on Fire (google it, im not allowed to link), a FREE guitar hero game for the pc. As the controller has a usb connection you will need to install some drivers but it will work. There are user created songs and, erm, others, available if you know where to look. Great game, works near enought he same as Guitar hero.

When this deal was first mentioned I did a search around and found various bits and bobs indicating that Rock Band could be purchased at Asda for £50 and the software at Comet for £10.

The guitar was in stock all over the place in Argos at this point.

Last weekend I reserved the guitar at Argos twice but never got around to buying it - I could not find any of the Rock Band gear at the right price to complement the guitar...

But Rock Band is something that I would like eventually - at the right price of course.

Now, tonight I look around at the Argos stores near me - 4 of them - and there are only 5 guitars left between them.

So I've reserved one.

In my lunch break tomorrow I'll make a purpose journey to buy it.

I downloaded the Version 1.3.110 from the frets site for windows and plugged the guitar in and it downoaded the drivers for the guitar.

I get the menu up and go to select keys to set up the guitar, it will only let do keys for f1 and f2 and when I try to load anything it crashes.

Is there some more software I need to download?

It brings up an error code when I try to play it using just the keys too.
