What is the Procedure for Collecting Service Charges?

Hi guys,
Does anyone know what the collection procedure is for a management company to collect service charges? I'm not talking about not paying it at all and being taken to court but where the quarterly amount is due by a certain date and you don't pay it by then. I'm doing a lot of juggling at the moment you see and I know it has to be paid but as I've never been in this situation before I'm wondering what the procedure is time wise and how much time I may still have left.
My service charges were due on the 1st of this month and although I have already paid a third of it I received a red reminder today to pay in full.

I would imagine it depends on your managing agent and how efficient they are. If I were you I'd get in touch with them and explain the situation, they might allow you to pay in installments or pay late this time and at least you won't need to worry about it then.0

Thanks for your reply. Contacting the managing agents is not an option for me as they are very disrespectful, rude and arrogant and they would seize the opportunity to make me feel like I am worthless hence why I have posted this message for instead.0
