Took me about 2 weeks from first applying to getting on line access. Didn't send the £1 with the forms. When I got my account and sort code just transferred on line from my none natwest account. When I got my on line access sorted sure enough the £1 was in the account.

It took me about 10 weeks to open a Nat West E saving account from start to finish, it was a nightmare.

That's madness isn't it! Mostly these accounts are only being opened to facilitate opening of an eISA, thus in will come the funds. It is therefore incumbent upon them to get that account open quickly. I'm not impressed with what I'm hearing.
  • I telephoned Nat West helpline last week to ask some basic queries about opening eISA. As I do not currently bank with Nat West, the very helpful lady on the phone took my details and opened a First Reserve acount for me on the spot, all I had to do was confirm my ID at a local Branch. Went to local branch, another very helpful lady sorted it all out and I returned with acount number, sort code etc GREAT!! NO PROBLEM.

So today I go online to open EISA with everything I need now I am a current customer. The online application says eISA will be opened immediately as I have an existing acount. So fill out on line application but I am not sure it has been processed, so ring helpline who confirm that application is "on the system" but because I omitted to include my home phone number [which is not a mandatory field], the information doesnt match their existing records. I offer to provide my phone number but am told that the operator cannot amend details and will be sending out another form which i will need to sign and return. DOH!!!

I'm in the same position, online it said I'd need to provide ID but the forms don't mention it! Glad I'm not the only one who was confused by this.

The forms say you MAY need to provide ID - most people are electronically verified from the electoral roll, and you will have agreed to a search of the records when you applied.

I opened my Natwest e-savings in Oct and e-ISA last month, and haven't been asked for any ID documentation.
