OLEChannelWnd

When I try to shut down from Windows NT4.0 Workstation I get a message saying OLEChannelWnd is not responding, which then doesn't respond to the End Task command.

I've done a search on Google but haven't found anything conclusive about this. Anyone here got any ideas?

No, don't have any printers installed.

I tried reinstalling Service Pack 6, and next time I tried to shut down the problem was gone, but it's come back again!

I read somewhere it could be to do with the way certain services interact with the active desktop, but which services, and what to do about it, I don't know!
  • So if you turn Active Desktop off altogether, does the problem go away??

Yes, Active Desktop is off as far as it can be i.e. I have "View my Active Desktop as a Web Page" ticked off.

Finally found the cause of this. It seemed to be AVG 7. I've uninstalled it, and don't get the message any more.
