my sister got my 3 yaer old a pair of copy caterpillar boots from shoe zone 3 weeks ago.
they toes are scuffed to hell and back but hey, @ £10 a pop thats not the issue. the issue is the sole, namely the back of each heal, is crumbling. she dont climb trees or do anything outrageous in them, just walk. and being the kind of sole youd find on cats im dissapointed they are crumbling away already.
i dont have a receipt though.
do i have any rights to take them back? or wave bye bye to my sister gift?

There's someone in my head, but it's not me

Not having any young children myself, I don't know how long would be reasonable for a normal pair of children's shoes to last, but I suspect three weeks isn't the answer. What about a pair of cheap shoes though? Does three weeks sound any better when the shoes only cost a tenner? Genuine question - you're a mum, not me.
If you had the receipt, you could try arguing whether the shoes were fit for purpose or not. Without a receipt, you would be relying on the shop's goodwill. I don't suppose your sister has proof of purchase?0 -
no, the receipt was in the bag. i used the bag for nappy disposal [saves us a fortune on nappy sacks].
oh well, £10 isnt a great loss. will know better next time. There's someone in my head, but it's not me0 -
Did she pay by card? It will show on her bank statement / credit card bill which is accepted in lieu of the receipt.0

They are "copy" caterpillar boots and not cats so they can't be expected to last as long as real cats would. In my experience shoe zone shoes don't last very long anyway.0
