    Hi snugglespants

Your hen night sounds wicked, let me know if you don't know Norwich very well and I can make a couple of suggestions where to go if you like.

I'm a big fan of the cheese by the way!

    xx

Hiya, thanks, I'm in nearby Ipswich, but have only been to Norwich a handful of times. We were thinking Mercy, as one of my bridesmaids (who's organising it with MOH) has been there a few times and says their cheese room is fantastic! (We don't have any anymore as the only one was in a club that got shut down when a guy was shot there!!)

Any ideas on where to go for a meal? Thank you! xxx

    Hi Snugglespants

    Right, OK...

I love La Tasca which is a spanish tapas restuarant (chain) The food and atmosphere are great plus you can get 2 for 1 vouchers (think there is a thread about it on MSE) La Tasca is in the tombland area which is the best place to go now - some fun bars and pubs. Riverside has a couple of restuarants (Frankie & Bennies, New Orelans) and some pubs but it's not as busy as it once was.

Mercy is on Prince of Wales Road (the top of which leads you into tombland) There is also a Chicagos there - always good for the cheese. Last month I went to Sing Sings on a work night out which is also on Prince of Wales road - it is a karaoke place with private booths for different size groups; think the biggest is for about 20. It's so much fun and they have a waiter drinks service. You hire a room by an hour, think it might be £30 or so? Have a look on the website. Definately a great place for giggles...I'm going there for my hen night in July!

If you google Norwich, Tombland you'll probably be able to find other restuarants in the area of which there are quite a few; Japanaise, Chinese etc. I'd also suggest you have a few drinks and start the night at the Glass House (Weatherspoons) which is in the same area...and has lovely MSE priced drinks!

One last note; the train station is ideally placed at the bottom of prince of wales road. If you're staying overnight, there is a travel or holiday inn (can't remember which!) right opposite the station.

    Hope that helps!

  • Excellent, we'll be staying at the travelodge (if i ever sort it out!). Thanks for the ideas for where to eat/drink - sounds alot like ipswich lol.

Several people are not wanting to do Go Ape now as they're too scared! So I was wondering about Paintballing or Laser Quest as other possibilities?

Aaaah I cannot wait!!!! So exciting, just getting away for a day lol.

Nothing has been organised for mine yet, but I've asked my CB if we could book into a nice hotel in Glasgow, get some beauty treatments there in the afternoon, dinner in the evening, then head out to a club later. Thought that would let the mum's come along for the civilised stuff during the day, and can then go home without watching me get drunk... Also some of my friends don't drink or are a bit skint so I didn't want them to feel obliged to come along to a weekend away that would cost them a fortune and that they weren't really interested in - this way they can come along to bits they want :)

Woo mine has finally been sorted, going to Blackpool, staying over and going to the Adonis club night. Looks pretty good! Quite a lot coming, from the young to the very old, should be a laugh!

    eurovision pamper party for me!

I'm doing the organising but all the girls will come to mine for eurovision 2010 - will maybe have each girl representing 2 or three countries they will each bring nibbles from that country!

I'll be asking all the girls to buy a plain pink t shirt and will print their country on it and maybe their name in diamantes as a keepsake

It will also be compulsory to bring some fizzy wine and while we watch the contenst we'll get tipsy and gossip. I suspect they will do something emabarasing to me. Will also get everybody to bring foot spas, face masks etc to do.. Should be fun and cheap!

that sounds so fun! If I was getting married near the eurovision Id so do that!

Oh lucky you!!!!! I'd LOVE to do that!!
  • WOOOOOOHOOOO!!! Hotel is booked....for nearly DOUBLE the cost originally found :eek::eek: BOOK EARLY!!! I was considering changing the date, but that one is the best for everyone concerned, so I'd much rather fork out the extra and have all or most people there :)

    I'm getting so excited - I cannot wait!! :D
