There is nothing free in this world.
Next time you "click" or buy online, check the Ts&Cs more carefully.0 -
I looked into this myself. It's not a case of checking T&C's and clicking. When you place your order for business cards or whatever, it very sneekily produces a pop up window over the top of your order window and the text basically reads something like to complete your order click thank you or click your order no thank you. So to the user of course wants to go ahead and say thank you thinking this was the completion of their order but in fact the thank you bit is saying yes I want to sign up to the trial for the vp rewards when inactually fact people should be clicking the no thank you.
With this pop up that covers your order screen it is really difficult to tell its a pop up, you then think that if you click on neither of the buttons but the top right cross that you lose your order.
I did notice this straight away when I placed my first order and found a 0800 number for them and explained what had happened, The chap on the phone cancelled the subscription and gave me a cancellation number. The outcome was sufficient and no harm done.
I don't think it is user error as such but a very devious website trick.TopCashback £1792.63My Little World0
