My Dad has installed a new graphics card, no problems so far.
Then he installed a new game, and all the sound went.
Checking in My Computer and Control Panel, everything appears to be turned on, so what should he do?
Many thanks

I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

If he had onboard sound previously try disabling it via the BIOS.
Did you mute the volume by mistake.0 -
Try reinstalling drivers for the sound car...this happens to me every once in awhile too.
Strange thing is it will work for my TV tuner, but not for Windows Media Player.0 -
Thanks chaps. I should've said, you need to assume you're talking to a 5 yr old.
What is a BIOS?

The cat sat on the mat :rotfl: :rotfl:
When starting your PC tap the F2 or Del key at the beggining of start up
basically at the first screen you see... then you will or should go into
the BIOS and in there you can change some major settings.
I suggest you have a read of the BIOS Instructions and help here first.
