Phone left off-hook

Does anyone know of a handset or a separate device that can be connected to the phone line and emit a noise or flash a light if the phone is left off-hook after a call has finished?
I know that BT provide a Graduated Howler from the exchange, but my aged FIL is with Virgin and they do not supply such functionality. He is forever forgetting to put the handset down correctly.
I have found a device, using Google, called FoneSitter, but having emailed them, they say it will only work in North America.
TIA
Geoff

My dad is similar in using his phone (and a bit hard of hearing)
We bought an amplified phone and wall mounted it in the kitchen. The phone handset has to get hung up correctly or it doesn't sit on the cradle.baldly going on...0
