Hi new here I have looked over the forum and cannot find anything related to this so here goes.
We live in Carlisle and were flooded on 8/1/2005 eventually we have got everything sorted out with the insurance company at a cost of £75,000 to them. Last year our insurance went up from £350 to £700, which i can understand, but now ready to re-new and they have sent me a letter telling me that i will have an excess of £2500 on a flood, and then a day later my re-newal policy turns up with a they want £1200 this is for bulidings and contents.
So my question is does anyone know any insurance companies that will insure me (including flood protection) as every one i have tried will not give me a quote, and i dont want to pay that whooping amount if i can help it
Your hopefully
Simon

Try the British Insurance Broker's Association . They should be able to point you in the right direction.
Somebody will cover you at a lesser cost I am sure.
It's been announced to us in the last few days that household policies will be going up due to Hurrican Katrina, so insurers can recoup the costs of the payout made!!!
