As a twist to this subject.

If you visit high 'street crime' areas, consider keeping an expired, closed account card or two in an old wallet to carry around with you. Put a fiver in there as well.

Should you ever have the misfortune to get 'mugged' hand over the old wallet with duff cards. You lose a fiver, but the thief will make off with useless cards saving you a great deal of hassle.
  • I have a card from Cahoot, but I cant cancel it as I took out a card protection policy with it. Cahoot just ignore my e-mails to cancel. Can anyone let me know how to cancel.

i also have cc protection with CPP.

when ever i cancel a ccard, that i have set up as the payment card, I notify them and between us we identify a new card to be used for payment.

who is your ccard protection with?

    have you tried contacting them?
smile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to.... ;)
  • Couple of cards it's worth holding onto:

1/ Nationwide No charges or commission on Foreign Currency Transactions

2/ Barclaycard 1 year extended warranty on Electrical goods

3/ Egg - For transferring Credit Card "debts" straight into your current account, commission/fee free

And a good cashback card...Best ones tend to vary...whose got the best at the moment?
  • I found this article relating to this topic quite useful, although it seems to be an article written for the american market. No doubt it's not a whole bunch different to our financial systems as we exist in a global economy:
