You basically dont need a car for any of the parks on the Cavallino Penisula. I.e Venice. They all have fab beaches and plenty to do without a car.

You can either fly to Treviso with Ryan Air and then get a bus to the penisula which will run all along the Via Fausta dropping off at most of the sites. Or you can fly to Marco Polo and then take the water bus to Venice, another through Venice and then over to Punta Sabbione. I think there is also a land bus from Marco Polo.

Once you are there, you dont need a car at all, especially on some of the larger sites, like Marina di venezia (my fave), Union Lido or Ca Savio.

There are propably others in Italy too, but I used to be the Area Manager out in Venice for Eurocamp and Keycamp so I can speak for them! LOL

Also Lake Garda you wont really need a car - Camping del garda and Bella italia are both walking distance to the train stn which mean Milan or Venice really easily.

Garda land theme park is walking distance away from both these parks

Totally agree with Snoopkat about Venice. We stayed in Ca Savio & hired a car which we practically didn't use for two weeks. There is no need as the bus service on the main road through the peninsula is fantastic. All the supermarkets are within walking distance as are all the usual shops, doctors, super little pizzerias - Il Fungi was particularly good. The beach was clean & the water was warm Get the bus to Punta Sabbione ( sandy point !!) & then water taxi into Venice. Step off the quay right into St Mark's Square, fantastic experience.
