Humax PVR 9300T Chops The End Off Programmes

I've recently bought the above PVR which I'm very pleased with, but it tends to chop the last minute off some progammes (presumably because they overrun slightly). It's possible to extend the default overrun by 1-5 mins I think, but the catch is that it says that this will not function with series link recording.
Does anyone else have this problem and know a way around it please?

I have the 9200T and it's the same when the series link is activated. Usually with ITV programmes in my experience. I wonder if they do it on purpose to deter people from recording their programmes and skipping through the adverts? It would seem that the BBC, and others, transmit some sort of signal for start and end because I've never had it happen with their programmes, even when they over-run.
As far as I know the only way to avoid this is to disable the series link facility and increase the start/stop threshold? I prefer the series link though, so live with the inconvenience!
My 9200T didn't have the series link when I bought it, there was a software download a couple of years ago which installed it. Previously had start/stop set to about 5 minutes. However, i've purposely sacrificed that for the series link facility.
