Last one I bough was from Halfords (different car, but they do loads) - has lasted nearly 4 years so far.

Try a local car spare shop if you have any, maybe an ATS, National store then?

Motor factors. I bought one for a Fiesta and it was £14 for the normal one or £16 for the Gold standard one.

I needed a big calcium-based one for my Lexus. I normally avoid Halfords but, on this occasion, they were doing a 20% discount and ended up much cheaper than the independents. Good threeyear guarantee as well.
Always worth shopping around though. Find out exactly the spec you need then just ring round for a few quotes.
    Can I help?

With batteries, you really do get what you pay for....NOT!!

If you choose the un-branded ones, from the local car pats store, you'll be offered 1, 2, maybe 3 years gurantee, all differnt prices.

Fine, except one thing - it'll still be the SAME battery, not a different quality, you're just paying more, for the longer gurantee!!

If you want to keep the car for a long time, find a Unipart dealer, they guarantte the battery, for as long as you own the car it's fitted to.

& do check VW main dealer, the genuine part can quite often not be as higher price, as you might think!!

I bought a battery for a Clio today for just £24.99 inc VAT with 1 year Guarantee from the former Lucas/Yuasa factory shop. The previous one lasted 5 years so should be a good buy if you live near Birmingham.
