Peugot 1007 - opinions?
Anyone care to share their experiences with the Peugot 1007? My local garage is doing some really good PCP deals at the moment and the car looks fantastic. It will be used as a 2nd car and then will be passed onto my 14 year old when she is 17 (group 3 car so fairly insurance friendly for a youngster)

Ahem - not my cup of tea.
Probably not going to be your 17 year olds cuppa tea at the time either...0 -
I really liked it so we had a test drive a couple of weeks ago but unfortunately
it had next to no acceleration.0 -
Completely unimportant to what you are thinking, but doesnt anyone else think that ten-o-seven sounds better than one thousand and seven, as advertised? My views are irrelevant - censorship is alive & well!0

No it's named to appeal to the German, Far East, and UK markets...

I had one as a courtesy car a few weeks back and i must say it was useless. Up front it was alright, but in the back there was next to no room, the sliding doors made it hard to climb into the back aswell and the boot would struggle to take one small suitcase. I thought it was weird that the dashboard was about 2 feet away from the windscreen too. Definately not to my taste!
There are much better cars of a similar ilk in my opinion, have a look at the Honda Jazz, my mother has one and I/She loves it.0 -
Possibly one of the worst cars i have ever had the chore of driving. I could have walked quicker. Nasty design, horrible looking, awful drive and you will not be able to keep up with bicycles. The car is one that you need to avoid. This is all in my opinion and if you enjoy to get to your destination slowly then this is your vehicle.0

They're doing the cheap deals because they're about as popular as typhoid.
It'll depreciate like it was on fire, drive like it was frozen to the spot. It combines the charm of George Galloway with the looks of John Prescott. At list price, it's Focus money despite being no more than a supermini.
Please buy anything else with your money, including heroin.
If you want a practical MPV, get a Mazda5 (group 6E). Get a new Toyota Yaris, or a Honda Jazz, or a Skoda Fabia, or even a Renault Modus which has infinitely more charm for significantly less money.
Incidentally if you did buy it on a PCP and then hand it on to your 17-year-old, you'd be faced with the prospect of paying £4,500 for a three-year-old... which is frankly silly.Debt at highest: September 2003 - £26,350
Debt now: £14,100
Debt free day: October 2008 :beer:0 -
I have concerns over the reliability, long term, of the sliding door.0
