Blustering Boris Johnson is put in his place
Boris Johnson tried to storm out of a meeting yesterday after clashing with MPs - but was ordered to sit down.
The London mayor lost his cool when he was asked why February's snow was allowed to cripple the capital.
With breathtaking rudeness, he stood up and declared: "I'm off."
But the Transport select committee boss told Mr Johnson to stay in his seat and answer the questions.
Warning Mr Johnson his behaviour was unacceptable, chairwoman Louise Ellman said: "Our capital was shut down in a way not seen in any other city. It appears you didn't act in accordance with your responsibilities as mayor."
He had been summoned before the committee to explain why transport in London ground to a halt during the heavy snow.
Buses, which ran through the Blitz, were all cancelled and many Tubes stopped running. The MPs insisted more should have been done.
But Mr Johnson, who has left a trail of gaffes and broken promises since he was elected last May, blasted: "This is pathetic. You are trying to put the blame on a Tory mayor.
Blah blah blah
try watching the video of the meeting (available online) - such a waste of taxpayers money as old gits mumble to themselves and keep themselves a job.
Did they even look at how to improve it next time? No. Just blame-game.
Make all those in that meeting do something useful instead. Like hard labour. (No not nulabour)0 -
For the first time ever Im not goint to vote, not unless something radical happens.
I used to be a Lib Dem supporter but surmised in the end, that it was a waste of 12 quid a year. Whats the point of voting for a party thats become a dumbed down version of two smarmy free market organisations that are already ideoligically virtualy indistinguishable.
I hate labour more because theyve been in power and so are "to blame", as well as having completely stitched up their core supporters. The tories at least, are honest about where theyre coming from and who they want to help. I dont agree for one moment that a vital moneyed business class will confer a cascade benefit to the rest of the country, but at least theyre reasonably honest that thats what they think.
Brown and Blairs treatment of the working and lower middle classes, on the other hand, has been nothing short of disgusting in its insidious dishonesty.0 -
'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0

They routinely favour the more well off and offer me large tax advantages just to vote for them.
I will not be fooled by their power at any price policy.
Ask me why I would sooner vote Libdem or Labour,it might surprise you.
a silly and offensive post that serves no purpose.

People forget, when they complain about Labour sleaze, that the Conservatives were voted out because of sleaze. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
