Car Insurance Advice

Hello,
I'm hoping someone here can offer me some advice. (Sorry in advance for the long post)
In March I renewed my car insurance and used my five years no claims discount that i have accumulated for this policy. However, I've just bought another car with a much higher insurance cost and want to use my no claims discount for the new car.
My wife and I plan to keep both of the cars (unfortunately she has 0 NCB) and wonder if anyone knows the best way to insure them both.
We're currently with Privilege and they website suggests that we might be able to use my NCB for both of the cars BUT the only problem is that they are insisting on a tracker for the new car. Argh.
Would I loose most of my money if i simply cancelled the privilege cover, used my NCB with another company for my new car and got my wife to insure the other car?

Hi, usually insurance companies will only allow you no claims discount to be used on one car and you have to build up an ncd on the other car. I found that Admiral multicar policy was cheaper than most, however they would only give me full ncd on both cars if I was the sole user on both cars ( which was ok for me ). If you cancel the existing policy you should get a refund of outstanding monies minus any sum for cancellation/termination listed in the terms and conditions of your policy, this could range from a deduction of just one months payment to one months payment AND up to £50 cancellation fee.0

Its common for an ins co to mirror your NCB onto a second car when you have 2 policies with them for the first year. I'd phone them up to get a quote for the newer car and ask them if they will match your NCB for the first year. Then at next renewal just swap the NCB over.
Also you can be policy holder on both cars so long as you declare who will be main driver of each vehicle.
Unless of course you want your wife to start earning her own NCB.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0
