. umm dont you mean suits your child?

No. I didn't mean that at all

I am assuming, maybe wrongly, that the matter of joint custody would be decided by a family court, who will take into account the child best interests.

So If the OP wants to go for joint custody then I don't see why he should not try.

Do you think he shouldn't try?

Considering he has made it plain that he can't afford maintenance, I am questioning how he thinks he can afford to keep the wee one in a joint custody situation?

And also he clearly hasn't thought through the impact on his working hours....he may be lucky and him and the ex can agree for him to have him Tues/Wed and at the weekend - but maybe not.
And it won't stop a claim for CS from his ex to him which, I am sorry to say, to me seems the reason he wants the joint custody.

Looks like he's not interested in our replies anyway as he has logged on after the initial query but hasn't responded/thanked anyone or gave an update.

Do you know it's this bloody forum that has made me like this!!! Between trolls, folk coming back with different names and bloody Jacklink/Charlie, you are hard pushed to find a genuine question on here...hence my cynicism.

    Methinks I need a wine....;);)

The fact you are a PWC makes you naturally suspicious so stop blaming the forum please. :rotfl:

It's okay. I have already paid my Sky bill, had my foreign holiday, there's a new car in the driveway, plasma telly in the livingroom and I have bought my fags for the week.

I have money left for wine.....*phew*, just as well eh? Would hate to do without (not that us PWC ever do OBVIOUSLY!!!!);)

Divorce is not very easy to obtain when you've been married less than a year - relate etc is forced.

On the money front, it sounds like you both work otherwise you wouldn't afford the flat as a couple either. If both names are on it, then you are both liable for the mortgage.
