Refused credit card and bank accounts

How does stoozing affect your credit rating?

I currently have about £31k stoozed away(over 4 cards) but have recently applied for a three new cards, a ICIC bank account and a barclays bank account. I have been accepeted for a HSBC credit card and the ICIC bank account but refused a Yorkshire building society card, a barclays bank account and an credit limit increse for my egg card, is it because i have applied for all these cards/account in a small period of time?

I have been stoozing for over 2 years and never had any problems getting credit cards or bank accounts before. I am employed fulltime and earned 25K a year.

Thanks in advance for any responses.

Banks nowadays share information between themselves and it could be that they see that your 'debts' are high compared to to your salary. You may have reached the ceiling for your stoozing.

A lot depends on your overall credit limit availability.

You might want to make sure you closed all those accounts you stoozed from in the begining

Over what timescale did you apply for the 3 CCs. Each one = credit check and if they are too close together, it does go against you. Suggest you get a copy of your Experian report, and hold off applying for another card for 4-5 months
