I have a Sony Serial Port Adaptor from a while back when I bought my Sony Camcorder as it came with a 4Mb memory stick. I have just purchased on-line a new Sony Cybershot camera and am currently looking at the 1Gb memory sticks. My question is will my existing Serial Port Adaptor be able to read the new memory stick I buy ie. have memory sticks stayed the same shape/size ? Thanks a lot.

There are the new smaller duo cards but youcan buy an adaptor to convert them to the usual longer memory sticks. I have a Cybershot s40 (tesco freeby) which I use my PSP pro duo card in an adaptor in as it requires the older sized memory sticks.

The Sandisk 1GB Pro duo cards are faster than the sony ones, and you need to be aware of the fake sony 1GB cards being sold on ebay. since the 2GB cards came out the 1GB cards are available pretty cheaply.

Thanks. The new camera on order is a DSC-S600. Where would you recommend purchase of the sticks ?

Ok according to the Sony site it used Memory stick duo or pro duo which are the smaller (newer memory sticks) the same as the PSP.

These go up to 2GB, I have bought a 1GB and a 2GB Gamming versions from https://www.scan.co.uk they were the cheapest available when I got them. I have tried both cards in a convertor inside my camera and they work fine.

Thanks for your help. Do you know if the duo/duo pro sticks come with an adaptor so I can read them from my old ms serial port reader.
