A wee moan about Tesco

Had our grocery delivered as we always do every week. We ordered the Finest Meal for 2 for £9. However the discount was not taken off at the end. I contacted the Customer Service Centre right away, and the guy argued blind with me that the total was correct, and the discount had been taken off. I said I would recheck and phone back. Tesco said if there was an error they would be happy for my local store to contact me...

So I added up all the items to find that the total "pre-promotion" was without the discounts (as it should be) - therefore I was right and Tesco were wrong.

I phoned again just there, and spoke to someone else. Without hesitation, the person apologised and confirmed a credit would be refunded. I've now had the email confirming this.

If the difference had only been pennies, I wouldn't have bothered, but it was £8.45, so I'm rather p'd off that the first person was talking a load of ***.

Rant over.

I would also feel like having a moan about this. It seems these days like I am constantly battling to get big companies to give me what I am entitled to.

Why is it that you feel the need to be unpleasant to a poster who has a perfectly legitimate cause for complaint? If you haven't got anything helpful or friendly to say then there is a case to be made for buttoning your lip and keeping your non constructive !!!!!y comments to yourself!

I don't blame you at all ! These days I am surprised when things actually go right first time as there appears to be little enthusiasm for many companies to give good, accurate service. And when customers ring to ask for something to be put right, they are treated as being unreasonable !

Americans don't put up with shoddy, indifferent service so why should we ? If customers don't notify companies when things aren't right then apathy just gets worse.

Shame they dont do DTD or equiv for online orders.

I must say I've yet to have a problem with them myself.
    Looking forward to the future.

I've had a couple of problems with Tesco too, majority of time they do sort it out fairly quick but it is frustrating. Three times not all items have been delivered, first two it was sorted and refunded immediately but the third time they made a fuss.

They must have looked at history and seen I've already had this problem twice and thought I was trying it on again as this time I was asked 101 questions and not spoken to in a professional manner. They said they would get back to me with in 7 days, only to ring me back an hour later to confirm the item had been left in the van.

I've also had my delivery fee refunded twice because it was late, one time the driver showed up half an hour later with no apology and stinking of booze, clearly chewing away trying to get rid of beer breathe. Had moral dilemma of whether to inform Tesco and did so because he was clearly in no fit state to be on the road. I never found out what happened but they did seem to take it seriously.

Tesco are becoming right little Hitlers these days.
In our area if you have a money off coupon for a product your'e buying they hold up the queue till the supervisor comes and checks it.
    It's just so embarrassing.
I had some free product coupons mailed to me from a manufacturer and they had two supervisors come and check them as the first one said they were not valid. They argued that they were internet coupons.I was just about to tell them to forget it when one of them noticed the serial no. on the back of the coupon.
I also saw a sign offering 25% off all jackets, bought a jacket and did'nt get the discount.
When I went to the customer services, the girl said sorry and offered the discount and said I'd be getting double the difference refunded too,not a small amount,£18.A supervisor standing by then took the jacket off the counter and said that won't be included in the offer and refused to sell it with the discount.
I argued about the sign but she said that that particular jacket wasn't on offer.
Strange considering that next day my daughter bought it for me and got the 25% off.
I just don't use Tesco much now unless I have to.

Nor me - I only buy bogof or offers and avoid the place. Don't do home deliveries because there have been so many complaints. Admittedly some stores are better run, but some are rude and unhelpful - Bury St Edmunds for one.

    "Get a life"

I reckon the comment 'get a life!' is one of the most overused , stupid, meaningless comment around - its only used by people who either have their heads up their own posteriors or who are too thick to think of anything sensible to say.

I'm sorry but all this pointless digging at posters who have got a genuine problem and are looking for some SENSDIBLE advice really gets right up my nose !

Say something helpful - or at least friendly - or don't say anything at all.
