Have Marbles taken over Halifax CC?

I was looking at my on-line banking today and in the list of payees which I have set up for paying CCs etc. was one for "Marbles", which I have never heard of before. I thought it was some scam, that someone had got into my account and set up a payee to pinch my money.

After checking the reference number I realised that it was my husband's Halifax One CC. Who are Marbles and have they taken over this card? He got a statement only this morning which still says it is Halifax One issued by BOS.

Does anyone know anything about Marbles?

Thanks

Marbles is owned by HFC (now part of HSBC) last I knew....?

    Look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HSBC_Bank_(Europe)

    HFC Bank

Household International established HFC Bank as consumer finance business in the UK in 1973, it went on to became one of the largest consumer finance companies in the UK before Household was acquired by HSBC in 2003. HFC Bank provides retail credit to many leading national retailers and is the largest point of sale loan provider in the UK. The business focuses on retail finance, both through branches and direct channels, as well as co-branded and loyalty credit cards. Some of the key brands are the recently relaunched Beneficial Finance (with around 160 branches), marbles and The GM Card. Today HFC Bank has around 3.5 million customers.

    who makes your marbles?

The marbles card is underwritten and managed by Aviemore Funding Ltd and the card is issued by Bank of Scotland plc. This means you can have peace of mind knowing that marbles works closely with one of the UK’s largest financial services companies.

    Hi

The Halifax One card is still run by HBOS, not sure why it would appear as a Marbles card.

The Marbles card is now issued by HBOS, underwritten and managed by Aviemore Funding and financed by SAV Credit (the people behind the Aqua card).

    See here: http://www.marbles.com/about-us.aspx
And here: http://www.savcredit.co.uk/ (see press release section)

All I can imagine is that as HBOS are now issuing the Marbles card they share the same bank identification numbers.

    Regards

    Hi,

Marbles debt was originally HFC - my marbles debt has been passed on to MBNA.

I'd contact them and ask whats going on?!

Are you quite certain? MBNA have absolutely nothing to do with marbles - its now Hbos (Bank of Scotland) and never been MBNA...?

Can you post proof of this claim or at least a link? cheers

No need for OP to contact them as we've already proven that HBoS own them which is correct with the OP.
